He married Mary Ellen Harding of Ames , Iowa , April 12, 1865. She was born October 3, 1849, in Indiana , and baptized August 12, 1877. They became the parents of ten children. When David died August 22, 1911, three children had preceded him in death. Mary Ellen died March 25, 1917. Burial was in the Holcomb Cemetery.
