David Crowl, well known in the southeastern end of Adams County, died from a complication of diseased, and after a lingering illness, at his home in Cherrytown, two miles north of Union Mills, Md. on Saturday afternoon, He was in the 73d year in his age. Some years ago he was actively engaged in farming and was regarded as on of the foremost agriculturists in that community. He owned, until recently, what was known as the Crawford Farm, near Union Mills, which he sold not long since to his son John W. Crowl, who now conducts it. Mr Crowl was, for a number of years overseer on the farms of the B.F. Shriver Co., located inthe vicinity of Union Mills. Deceased was married to a daughter of the late James Bankert, by whom he is survived, together with the following children; Miss Emma Crowl, Tyrone, Md., Mrs Allewese D. Feeser, Pennsylvania; Milton Crowl, Littlestown; Mrs. Joshua Steward, John D. Crowl, Charles Crowl, Garfield D. Crowl and William H. Crowl, of near Union Mills. Funeral at Silver Run Cemetery Tuesday morning, December 10, Rev. S. Charles Hoover pastor of the Reformed Church of which Mr. Crowl was a member, officiating. Obit in The Gettysburg Times,Wednesday December 11, 1912.
