Later he moved with his parents to Monroe, Mich., from there to Cairo, Ill., and still later to Adams County, Ind., where he was instructed and confirmed in the Lutheran faith by the Rev. Spiegel of Preble, Ind. About 1885 Mr. Buehrer came to Nebraska and worked on a farm near Ulysses for five years. On April 6, 1890, which would have been just 50 years ago next Saturday, Mr. Buehrer was united in marriage to Miss Sophie Bieberich of Staplehurst by the Rev. M. Leimer. The newsly wedded couple settled on a farm near Staplehurst and spent nearly all of their married life on their present farm, durin which time they held continuous membership with Marysville Lutheran church. This union was blessed with seven children, all of which survive their father. He leaves to mourn his sudden death, his devoted wife Sophie; the following children: Mrs. Oscar Kamprath of Williamsburg, Iowa; Arthur of Seward; Edward of Loveland, Colo.; Mrs. John Mailand of Grant, Nebr.; Oscar of York and Mrs. Clifford Jones of Seward; three sons-in-law, four daughters-in-law, 25 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; three brothers and their families: joseph and Martin of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Abraham of Texas; two sisters: Mrs. Chris Bieberich of Oklahoma and Mrs. Esther Best of Ft. Wayne besides two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Jens Ocken of Staplehurst and Mrs. Wm. Wieman of Oklahoma. Mr. Buehrer died in faith in his Favior, as we confidently hope, on Wednesday, March 27, 1940, of heart failure at the age of 74 years, 5 months and 17 days. "Lord teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom." Funeral services, conducted by Rev. F. Bangert, were held at the Marysville Lutheran church Sunday, March 31st. Burial was in the church cemetery.
