Description	:	"After a long and lingering illness, David Donald Gilmour passed , away at his home here [in Bradford, VT] on Nov. 1, 1920. He was born at Glover, March 25, 1864. His early life was spent on home farm which he later bought. Shortly after his marriage to Margaret Telfer, on June 17, 1896, the buildings were destroyed by fire. He then bought a farm at West Glover. From West Glover he removed to Barton and later to Lyndon, where he bought the Valley Farm. His early life was spent on home farm which he later bought. Shortly after his marriage to Margaret Telfer, on June 17, 1896, the buildings were destroyed by fire. He then bought a farm at West Glover. From West Glover he removed to Barton and later to Lyndon, where he bought the Valley Farm. On account of failing health he sold the farm and for two years lived in Lyndonville. In the fall of 1918 he bought of Roy Burroughs a part of the Everett McDuffee farm on the Upper Plain at Bradford. In July he sold the farm to his son-in-law, Wm. S Bailey, and bought a house in this village, where he lived less than two months when death claimed him. Mr Gilmour was an active member of the Congregational Church and a man highly respected by all who knew him. He was a tender and devoted husband and father and will be greatly missed in the home circle. During the illness of his wife he scarcely left her except for a few hours when necessary caring for her as long as his strength permitted. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife and three daughters, Agnes, (Mrs. Wm. S Bailey), Bertha M. and Helen M., a brother at West Burke and a sister in California. The funeral was held at his home here on Nov. 3, 1920, Rev. J. J. Hutchinson of Barton, a former pastor, officiated. Burial at Glover. A large number of friends awaiting at the cemetery showed the high esteem in which Mr. Gilmour was held." (Bradford United Opinion, 11/12/1920)
