Description	:	David Edward Brown, 58, of Madison went to be with his Lord on Friday, Sept 19, 2008, after a hard battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the son of Christa Brown and the late Edward J. "Harold" Brown of Madison. He was born August 5, 1950, at Madison General Hospital, Madison. He attended Scott High School and graduated from Culpeper High School in Culpeper, Va. Read More	David Edward Brown, 58, of Madison went to be with his Lord on Friday, Sept 19, 2008, after a hard battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the son of Christa Brown and the late Edward J. "Harold" Brown of Madison. He was born August 5, 1950, at Madison General Hospital, Madison. He attended Scott High School and graduated from Culpeper High School in Culpeper, Va. He lived in Culpeper, Va., for over 30 years, where he was married and raised his family. He worked at Verizon Telephone Company, Culpeper, for 30 years. He was a lifetime member of Culpeper Volunteer Rescue Squad and a lifetime member of Reva Volunteer Fire and Rescue also in Culpeper County, Va. He recently had moved back to Madison, to enjoy his retirement. He was a member of the Madison Fire Department and had been working at the Boone County 9-11 center before his illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Dale; his children, Linda Cheryl Hatton and her husband Greg of Mount Sterling, Ky.; his son, Jeffrey David Brown and his life partner Gina Williams of Culpeper, and Daniel Edward Brown and his wife Michelle of Culpeper, Va. Survivors also include his granddaughters, Madeline Grace Hatton and Sophia Claire Hatton of Mount Sterling, Ky., and Baby Brown of Culpeper, Va., who is due to arrive in Jan. '09; his mother, Christa Brown of Danville; and his sister, Elizabeth Hall and her husband Steve of Asheville, N.C. A celebration of his life and faith will be held at Madison Church of God Fountain of Life Worship Center. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, September 22. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Stacy Dingess officiating. Interment will be at Boone Memorial Park, Madison. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in his honor to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, 1331 E. Wyoming Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19124. Handley Funeral Home, Danville, is in charge of arrangements.
