David Larson, 57 of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away with his daughter at his side on Sunday, April 7, 2019, at the Dougherty Hospice House. David Elmer Larson was born on October 5, 1961, in Rapid City, SD. In August of 1968, David was fostered by Oscar “Smiley” and Lila Larson. He grew up in Hudson, SD where he met his life-long best friend Keni. He graduated from Hudson High School in 1980. David excelled in sports and has his name is listed in the Hudson High School Museum with the relay team that held the state record for many years. After moving to Sioux Falls, David worked various jobs until beginning a career with Syverson Tile becoming very proficient at his job. He enjoyed sports and was a devoted Kansas City Chiefs fan. His daughter liked to tease him for trying to act like a “Grumpy Old Man” when everyone knew he was extremely caring and loved hard. Grateful for having shared his life are his daughter Tiara Warner Larson, Sioux Falls, SD; brothers Don Larson, Hudson, SD, Dave Larson, Tea, SD; sisters Becky Larson and her husband Chip, Sioux Falls, SD, Grace Finch and her husband Terry, Sioux Falls, SD, Loeta Hard Heart, FL, Diana Hard Heart, Pine Ridge, SD; sister-in-law Theresa Anderson; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Smiley and Lila, brother Pete Anderson, and sister-in-law Linda Larson.
