Emig, 84, of Abilene passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at Village Manor in Abilene. He was born April 17, 1934, in Solomon, the son of Clinton and Cora (Comer) Emig. He graduated from Chapman High School in 1952. David was a farmer, worked for Frisbee Construction as a supervisor, owned and operated Dave Emig Trucking for 15 years, and served on the co-op board. He enjoyed fishing and was the owner of Tri Lakes in Solomon. On Feb. 16, 2000, he was united in marriage to Donna Miller. David is survived by his loving wife, Donna, of the home, daughters Marla Meyer, Melissa Sellers and husband Michael and stepdaughter, Phyllis Goodrich and husband Dean, sons Raymond Emig and wife Corazon and stepson Douglas Miller and wife Janie, 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, stepbrothers Donald Carrier and wife Mary and Dennis Carrier and wife Freda, sister Mildred Schrader, and sister-in-law Linda Jo Ward. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Jeffrey Scott Emig, infant daughter Angela Dawn Emig, stepmother Lela Emig, sister Dorothy McMillan, brothers Merle Emig and wife Marjorie and Robert Emig and wife Mary Jean. Funeral services for David will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at Mt. Pleasant Church, rural Abilene, with Pastors Mark Stanger and Stan Norman officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery next to the church. Family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 at Carlson-Becker Funeral Home in Solomon. The family suggests memorials be given to the Hospice of Dickinson County or to the Alzheimers Association. Memorials may be dropped off or mailed to Carlson-Becker Funeral Home, P.O.
