Description	:	David F. Sawyer Jr., 80, died Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at Conway Manor. Mr. Sawyer was born in Conway, South Carolina, a son of the late David F. Sawyer Sr. and Carrie Graham Sawyer. He was a charter member of Langston Baptist Church and currently a charter member of Forestbrook Baptist Church. Mr. Sawyer served two years in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired in 1985 from Horry Electric Cooperative after serving 37 years. Mr. Sawyer was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He never met a stranger. Mr. Sawyer was born in Conway, South Carolina, a son of the late David F. Sawyer Sr. and Carrie Graham Sawyer. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Conway Manor for their wonderful care and support. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Lila Ruth Smith Sawyer; two sons, David F. Sawyer III and wife, Sherry, and Thomas ''Tommy'' P. Sawyer Sr. and fiancee, Jamie Altman Moss; three grandchildren, Shannon Sarvis Sawyer, Toni Lynn Sawyer Lee and her husband, Phillip, and Thomas ''Thom'' P. Sawyer Jr.; one great-grandchild, Maxwell Hunter Lee; one sister, Geraldine S. Winn; and one brother, C.W. ''Dick'' Sawyer. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2007, at Forestbrook Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Shriver officiating. Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, August 9, 2007, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O.
