Rev. G.A. Schwabauer will officiate at the services, with burial in Greenwood cemetery beside his wife. Rev. G.A. Schwabauer will officiate at the services, with burial in Greenwood cemetery beside his wife. Mr. Bennett had been a resident of Cheyenne County since 1898, when he took up his residence on a farm near Dalton. In 1918, he retired and moved to Sidney, where he had resided since. Born near Quincy, Illinois, Dec. 11, 1854, he moved with his parents to York County, Nebraska, and after living there a few years moved to Thayer where he operated a livery stable for several years. In 1891, he was married to Miss Jenny Whistler of Waco, Nebr., where they lived for some time before moving to his mother’s farm at Thayer. Seven years later, in 1898, the couple moved to Cheyenne county to make their home. Mrs. Bennett and a daughter, Mrs. Onna Brown died last December from botulism poisoning, at which time a niece, Mrs. Gertrude Webster of Sidney also died from the same cause. Survivors include a sister, Alice Bennett of Alamosa, Colo., a son-in-law, C.E. Brown, a grandson, Pvt. Millard Carey, and a granddaughter, Mrs. Dorothy Shaw, all of Grand Island.
