Alger, aged 65 years died at his home near Newport on Wednesday about 10 o'clock after an illness of several months. Mr. Alger had been under the local physician's care for a long time and has been to the Harrisonburg hospital at different times. One sister, Mrs. Artie Oden of Mt. Jackson also survives. The funeral will be conducted at the Alger home by Rev. A.W. Andes with burial in the family cemetery nearby at 2 p.m. today (Friday). Note: All his son's were named with the surname Campbell in the obituary. That was an obvious error, so I corrected to Alger, their rightful surnames.
