Description	:	David H. Waters Jr., 72, passed away Thursday, Sept. 18, 1997 at the Morris County Hospital. He was born Oct. 2, 1924, in Dunlap, the son of David H. and Maud Hylton Waters. He was a graduate of Council Grove High School. Waters served in the U.S. Navy as a coxswain in the South Pacific on the USS Zuni during World War II, and was honorably discharged on Feb. 25, 1946. Read More	David H. Waters Jr., 72, passed away Thursday, Sept. 18, 1997 at the Morris County Hospital. He was born Oct. 2, 1924, in Dunlap, the son of David H. and Maud Hylton Waters. He was a graduate of Council Grove High School. Waters served in the U.S. Navy as a coxswain in the South Pacific on the USS Zuni during World War II, and was honorably discharged on Feb. 25, 1946. Warneke was on June 26,1947, in Cottonwood Falls. His membership included the Dunlap United Methodist Church, VFW Post 1281 Herrington, and the Teamsters Union in Wichita. Waters was preceded in death by his parents: a sister Alberta Kendall; and a granddaughter, Tonya White. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Shiela White, Allen; a brother John Waters and wife Pat; three sisters, Betty Ruhl and husband, Everett, of Tuscon, Arizona,; Melba Tracr of Jacksonville, Florida, and Joyce Rosiere of Lakewood Calif.; a granddaughter Jessica White, Allen; grandson Shawn White, Emporia; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, at Kendall Funeral Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. He will lie in state from 12 noon, to 8 p.m., at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Morris County Unit of the American Heart Association and sent in care of the Kendall Funeral Chapel. Obituary from the Council Grove Republican 09/19/1997.
