David was born on April 22, 1944, in Denver, Colorado, the second of three children born to Harold and Lois (VanMeter) Brady. Read More	David Harold Brady, 74, of Stamford, Nebraska passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society-Colonial Villa in Alma. David was born on April 22, 1944, in Denver, Colorado, the second of three children born to Harold and Lois (VanMeter) Brady. He attended Chase County Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1962. It was there that David met his bride to be, Valerie Ann Goddard, and they later married on March 6, 1965 in Imperial, Nebraska. At that time, David was attending the University of Nebraska in Lincoln pursuing his Bachelor of Arts in Education degree. He later obtained a Master's Degree in Educational Administration at Kearney State College. David and Valerie were blessed with three daughters: Kim, Danelle and Vickie. Mr. Brady, as he was known by all, devoted his life to educating the youth of Harlan County. In 1968 he accepted his first teaching position at Stamford High School where he later served as Principal until its closing. He continued his career in education at Republican City, then Orleans, and finally Southern Valley. He was highly respected as Principal but he loved his time teaching shop classes. He also taught Driver Education and Hunter Safety courses for many years. He was the "Happy Hunter" and guided many avid pheasant hunters from out of state though the rich pheasant country around Stamford. In addition to his passion for hunting and woodworking, David loved to go shopping, garden and visit his daughters and their families. He leaves to celebrate his life his wife, Valerie Brady of Stamford; daughters Kim Spady and her husband, Brad of Imperial, Danelle Johnson and her husband, Martin of Lindsborg, Kansas, and Vickie Ahlers and husband, David of Omaha; grandchildren RyAnn, Justin and Aevah Combs, Hunter Spady, Delaney Johnson, McKinley Johnson, William Ahlers and Vivian Ahlers; one brother, Alan Brady of Washington; along with a host of many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. David was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, William Harold Brady; a brother, Lee Morris Brady; and son-in-law, Kent Beck. Funeral Services were held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Stamford, Nebraska with Reverend Thalia Woodworth officiating. Graveside Services were held at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Imperial, Nebraska on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. Central Time (2:30 p.m. Mountain Time). Visitation was held on Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Stamford with family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Family also gathered with friends following the Graveside Service at the home of Brad & Kim Spady in Imperial. A memorial has been established in David’s honor and will be designated. Expressions of caring and kindness may be sent to the family at www.nelsonbauerfh.com The Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home of Holdrege was in charge of arrangements.
