David Henry Goodrich died at the home of his son, Dan H. Goodrich, at 5:45 p.m., Sunday, August 15, 1909, aged 92 years 8 months and 4 days. Mr. Goodrich was born near South New Berlin, Chenanago County, N.Y., December 11, 1816. He was married to Alzina Huling February 2, 1840. They moved to Pecatonica, Ill., in 1854. In 1861 they moved to Strawberry Point, Iowa., and in 1873 to Fillmore county, Nebr. After the death of his wife, Jan 31, 1894, he had made his home with his son. Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Goodrich; four sons and two daughters. One daughter died in 1865 and the other lives in Denver, Colo. One son, Charles, lives at Nuda, Colo., and the other two sons, D. C. and D. H. Goodrich reside in Geneva. Deceased was as well as usual until about a month ago when the hot weather seemed to weaken him. He failed gradually until the last three days of his life, when he failed very rapidly, owing to the extreme heat and his advanced age. Thus another old settler has passed to his reward.
