David was born August 31, 1931 in Venus, Nebraska to Jay “Lloyd” and Loula (Hines) Hamilton. He grew up at rural Venus and Creighton, Nebraska and graduated from Creighton High School. David married Elvira M. Buerman in Creighton on April 12, 1955. She preceded him in death July 13, 2008. David was born August 31, 1931 in Venus, Nebraska to Jay “Lloyd” and Loula (Hines) Hamilton. He grew up at rural Venus and Creighton, Nebraska and graduated from Creighton High School. David married Elvira M. Buerman in Creighton on April 12, 1955. She preceded him in death July 13, 2008. He worked for Northern Telephone Company and moved to Norfolk, Nebraska and worked for a plastering contractor. The couple moved to the Papillion area where he worked as a brick layer and he and his wife raised their family. He attended CE School of Commerce in Omaha, Nebraska for two years. After his schooling, he managed hardware stores in several communities. He moved to Fremont in 1992 and worked at Ace Hardware until his retirement in 1997. He returned to Papillion in March of 2005. Shortly after his wife’s passing he moved to Seward. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont and FOE #378 in Grand Island, Nebraska. He is survived by sons, Rodney Hamilton of Omaha, Daniel (Susan) Hamilton of Reno, Nevada and Thomas (Melissa) Hamilton of Lincoln, Nebraska; daughters, Brenda Stastny of Omaha, Monica (Les )Montgomery of Guide Rock, Nebraska, Renae Bruns of Grand Island, and Greta (Mark) Criner of Seward, Nebraska; sister, Eldora (Dale) Gentzler of Blair, Nebraska; 20 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elvira; brother, Elven Hamilton and sister, Bonna Barner. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont, Nebraska. The Rev. Father Ron Battiato will officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 5 PM to 8 PM with a rosary at 7 PM at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont. Memorials may be directed to the family for a charity yet to be determined." Moser Memorial Chapel, 2170 N. Somers Avenue, Fremont, NE 68025.
