Description	:	Wray Wilson was born in Vinton, Benton County, Iowa, April 12, 1879. He was the son of James Eustep and Margaret Jane Keefer Wilson, the family migrating from Pennsylvania to Iowa in 1869. He passed away at his home in Massena on June 16, 1955, at the age of 76 years, 2 months, and 4 days. He was the son of James Eustep and Margaret Jane Keefer Wilson, the family migrating from Pennsylvania to Iowa in 1869. He passed away at his home in Massena on June 16, 1955, at the age of 76 years, 2 months, and 4 days. When he was 5 years old, he moved with his parents, to Massena, Iowa, where he lived and made his home for the rest of his life. He was graduated from the Massena High School in 1897 and was engaged in the mercantile business until 1907 when he sold his store of W. W. Slocum. He then entered the banking business being identified with the Farmers Savings Bank until his death. Wray had training acquired by his years of experience in business at Massena and a natural gift of tact and geniality which made him a valuable factor in the conduct of a bank. He held various positions, from teller to cashier to Executive Vice President. He was married to Maude Gibson at the home of her parents in Lenox, Iowa, on June 24, 1908. To this union, twins were born, Walter G. Wilson of Lakewood, California, and Marjorie Ellen Spencer of Oakland, Iowa. He became a member of the Massena Methodist Church in 1905 and was an active and faithful member until his death. He served as treasurer of the church for many years, resigning just a few weeks ago. He was a member of Comfort Lodge, AF and AM, 515 of Massena, and also a member of Massena Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, having received 50 year membership certificates from both organizations. He was a past Master of the Masonic Lodge and a past patron of the Eastern Star. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite Consistory. He was active in many civic and community affairs and served as treasurer of the town, school and other organizations. He was very loyal to his High School Alumni group, never having missed a banquet since his graduation. He leaves to mourn his passing, his two children Walter and Marjorie; 1 brother, Charles D. Wilson of Massena; 1 sister, Mrs Ella Hosfelt; 4 grandchildren, Judith Ellen Spencer of Oakland; and Suzanne, James and Mary Elizabeth Wilson of Lakewood, Calif.; and a host of many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maude, three sisters and a brother.
