Description	:	David Lee Boyd, 71, of Pittsburg, Kansas died at 4 a.m. Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Via Christi Village at Pittsburg, Kansas. Mr. Boyd was born August 25, 1946 at Pittsburg, Kansas the son of Norman and Edna Wilson Boyd. David was a retired clerk for Foodtown 24 years, Allison's 1 year, and Ron's IGA for 8 years. He was raised in Pittsburg and attended Lincoln and St. Mary's Grade Schools and graduated from St. Mary's High School. He married Mary Jo Davied on July 8, 1977 at St. Barbara's Catholic Church at Chicopee. Mrs. Boyd survives at the home.... He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Frontenac, was a member of the Pittsburg American Legion Post #64 for 52 years, and served in the Army National Guard. Survivors include his wife Mary Jo of the home and two brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Frontenac, Kansas with Father Thomas Stroot as the celebrant. Burial will be at the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery. Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma where the family will receive friends until 7 p.m. following the rosary. The family suggests memorials to Angels Among Us or the Pittsburg American Post #64. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
