Description	:	David L. Kidwell, age 82, of Versailles, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at his home. He was born February 2, 1934, in Versailles, a son of the late David E. and Pearl Lee (Willson) Kidwell. On November 15, 1953, at the Versailles United Methodist Church, he was united in marriage to Paddy E. Morris, who preceded him in death on May 2, 2015. David spent many years farming. Kidwell, age 82, of Versailles, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at his home. He was born February 2, 1934, in Versailles, a son of the late David E. and Pearl Lee (Willson) Kidwell. On November 15, 1953, at the Versailles United Methodist Church, he was united in marriage to Paddy E. Morris, who preceded him in death on May 2, 2015. David spent many years farming. He loved working with his hands, especially when woodworking, gardening or doing mechanical work. He was a member of the Versailles United Methodist Church and was a very active member of the Kiwanis Club. David also played an instrumental role in establishing the Versailles Rural Fire Department. He didn’t know a stranger and always enjoyed visiting with friends. David loved his family and treasured the times he spent with them. He is survived by his son, Bill Kidwell and wife Joan of Versailles, Missouri; granddaughter, Julie Kidwell of Versailles, Missouri; sister, Joeanna Hancock of Dayton, Ohio; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert “Bob” Kidwell. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 30th, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Lora Cunningham officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Versailles Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Versailles Rural Fire Department. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
