Description	:	OBIT: David Orr Terry, 83, a native of Bremer County and a resident of the Horton and Waverly community all his life, died Friday at Mercy Hospital. He had been in failing health the past few years and suffered a stroke Nov. 25, from which he never rallied. Funeral services were Sunday afternoon at the Kaiser funeral home in Waverly and at the Baptist church at Horton. Burial was in the Horton Cemetery. Rev. V.C. Mr. Terry was born Dec. 22, 1855, in a log cabin on a farm near Horton, son of Erie (sic) and Chloe (sic) Terry, early settlers of the county who came here from Illinois early in the year 1855 in a covered wagon. He continued to reside on the home farm until March of 1920, when the family came to Waverly. Mr. Terry was married Oct. 28, 1880 to Emma Pierce, who preceded him in death Jan. 19, 1917. Surviving are a son and four daughters: Marion Terry and Mrs. Gertrude Griffith, at home; Mrs. LeGrand Holmes and Mrs. Wyette Ebert, Plainfield; and Mrs. Alva Fuller, Waverly. A sister, Mrs. Estella Coffin of Horton, and nine grandchildren also survive. A brother, Arthur Terry, and a sister, Mrs. Elsie Hart, preceeded him in death. He was a member of the Baptist church, being baptized in September of 1929.
