David Randall Orender
The Lord called David Randall Orender, 55 of Arma, KS home at 11:55 a.m., Thursday, February 15, 2007 at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center in Pittsburg.
He was an exceptional husband, son, father and grandfather.
He married his sweetpea and soul mate, Della L. Daniel, on December 31, 1980.
Family was the most important part of his life. He will be greatly missed but his memory will live on in our hearts.
Randy was born September 23, 1951 in Pittsburg, KS to Robert G. and Iris V. Patton Orender.
He attended area schools, graduating from Pittsburg High School with the class of 1969.
He had been self-employed and worked for Kennett's Paint Store.
He currently was employed at PSU as a painter.
He is survived by his wife, Della, of the home, his daughters and son-in-laws Crysti Downes and husband Tom of Ozark, MO, Missy Hayden and husband Adam of Pittsburg, KS and Rochelle Mefford and husband Mike of Blue Springs, MO; 6 grandchildren Colby, Carly, Cara Winterbower, Nathan Downes, Cooper Hayden and Aleigh Mefford; his parents Robert and Iris Orender of Girard, KS; sisters Cheri Dunbar and husband Jim of Girard and Liz Bradshaw of Lowell, KS; along with several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Randy was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Tom and Lizzy Orender and his maternal grandparents Carl and Edith Patton.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm, Monday, February 19, 2007 at Friskel Funeral Home, 230 E. McKay St. in Frontenac, KS with Brother Richard Smithson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Pittsburg.
The family will receive friends from 6-8p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Friends may call the funeral home after 3p.m. on Sunday.
The family will be at the home of Missy and Adam Hayden 2616 W. 4th St in Pittsburg.
The family suggests expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the American Heart Assoc. Memorials may be mailed to or left at Friskel Funeral Home, 230 E. McKay St in Frontenac.
