Read More	David Ross Padgett, 60, Kokomo, died in his sleep, Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at his home. He was born Oct. 12, 1951 in Kokomo, the son of Dale and Madonna (Emmerling) Padgett. On May 22, 1976 in Kokomo, he married Colleen M. Henn, who survives. Dave was a 1970 graduate of Kokomo High School and a 1972 graduate of the Indiana Barber School. During his career as a barber, Dave owned and operated the Park Place Barber Shop. He then went on to work as a machine operator at Chrysler for the past 20 years. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and had served as the Grand Knight. Dave enjoyed golf and bowling. He served as the President and Treasurer of the Jack Lowe Memorial Golf League, and was active in the UAW Bowling League and the Elks Bowling League. He was a member of the UAW, Local 685. Survivors include his wife, Colleen; son, Bryan D. Padgett; two daughters, Erin Shephard and her husband, Marcus, Sarah Wright and her husband, Jamel; seven grandchildren, Andrew Shephard, Addyson Shephard, Alexander Shephard, Jaylen Wright, Kyah Wright, Quincy Wright and soon to be born, Talia Wright. Dave is also survived by his mother, Madonna Padgett, five siblings and their spouses, Judy Riley, Joanna and Lloyd Schmidt, Mary and Paul Cothern, Stephen and Melissa Padgett, Loretta Beck; two brothers-in-law and their spouses; Tim and Penny Henn, Kevin and Shawn Henn; 16 nieces and nephews; several great nieces and great nephews; and an aunt and uncle with whom he was especially close, Art and Jerry Emmerling and his golden retriever, Molly, who was a special pal to Dave. He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Padgett; a brother-in-law, Mike Riley; and his wife's parents, Richard and Marilyn Henn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Theodore Dudzinski officiating. Burial will follow in Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends are invited to call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Shirley and Stout Funeral Home, Jefferson Street Chapel, 414 W. Jefferson St., where a scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friends may also call from 10:30 a.m. until Mass time on Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in Dave's memory to the American Lukemia and Lymphoma Society, in honor of Dave's grandson Quincy. Envelopes will be available.
