T. Sherman at the age of 49 years, 5 months and 12 days. He was born in New York City Sept. 5, 1849. He lived with his parents until their death, when the home was broken up and deceased, with a brother, moved to Xenia, Ohio, where he entered school. In 1863 he entered the service as a musician, serving until the close of the war, then going into the regular army. After receiving his discharge Mr. Sherman drifted west and entered the newspaper business, which he since followed almost constantly. Of the nine papers he founded, the RECORD is one. On March 28, 1871, he married Miss Anna Poisall, at Seward, Neb., and the wife of his youth survives him. To this union was given six children, all of whom are living. Mr. Sherman, with his family, moved to Liscomb in November, 1898, where he and his sons founded the Liscomb Bee. He was prostrated some two months ago, and when the last moments came he was surrounded by his family and friends. He died as he had lived, a christian. At the early age of 11 years he was received into the Presbyterian church and later into the Methodist church in which he was an earnest worker until death. Funeral services were held on Monday the 20th day of February, under the auspices of the Modern Woodmen, Rev. D. McMaster of Hampton, a friend of former day, in an address full of pathos, commended the soul to its maker. The remains were borne to their last resting place by fellow Woodmen and the Old Soldiers of this city attended in a body and the last farewell of a loved one was taken. -- Liscomb Bee.
