Mr. Thorpe is past 91 years of age. He is a brother of Mrs. W. M. Glotfelty of Ohiopyle. The Daily Courier Connellsville, Pennsylvania Saturday Evening, June 18, 1932 Page One --- Word was received at Ohiopyle Saturday that David Thorpe, former Ohiopyle resident, who had been living at Sioux Falls, S.D. , died at a hospital at that city, where he had been a patient for several weeks. Death was due to infirmities of age. Mr. Thorpe, better known to Ohiopyle friends as "Uncle Dave," was past 91 years of age. He was a Civil War veteran and a member of the Stewart township regiment of which only one veteran survives - Morris "Deacon" Morris, now residing near Ohiopyle, who is in his 94th year.
