Description	:	David William Hahn was born at Palisade, Neb., August 8, 1889 and died at Denver, Colo., November 2, 1934 at the age of 46 years, 2 months and 24 days. His sudden passing was a shock to family and community. Until he was fifteen years of age he lived with his parents at Palisade; at that time the family removed to Benkelman, Neb. Read More	David William Hahn was born at Palisade, Neb., August 8, 1889 and died at Denver, Colo., November 2, 1934 at the age of 46 years, 2 months and 24 days. His sudden passing was a shock to family and community. Until he was fifteen years of age he lived with his parents at Palisade; at that time the family removed to Benkelman, Neb. In 1910 he homesteaded in a new community northwest of Wray, where he had continued to make his home to the end of his life. On May 27, 1917, Mr. Hahn enlisted for service in the World War. He was stationed for training with Co. B 134th Infantry which was known as the Sandstorm Division. He was sent to France October 12, 1917 and served in the Rainbow Division over there. He was honorably discharged at Fort D. A. Russell, Wyo., in 1919, and returned to his work on the farm. After the death of his father in 1921 he became the mainstay of his mother and other members of the family. Besides his father, two sisters, Minnie at the age of nine and Mrs. Cora Gaskill, a young mother, had preceeded him in death. There remain, his mother, Mrs. Ella Hahn, four sisters: Mrs. Effie Reasoner, Mrs. Anna Brown, and Miss Elizabeth Hahn of Wray, and Mrs. Florence Foster of Loveland, Colorado; also three brothers: Edward, Fred, and Philip, all of Wray, with twenty-one nephews and nieces who mourn his passing. These all have the sympathy of the entire community. The funeral services were held at the Christian Church in Wray on Sunday, November 4. at 1:30 p. m. with the sermon by Rev. Clark Bower. Burial was in the Grandview Cemetery.
