He was born and grew to manhood and married in Utah, coming to Claresholm and settling n land in the Starline district in 1904. He is survived by his wife and five children. The children are: Melvin at Claresholm Lester in the Royal Canadian Navy at Halifax,NS, recently home on furlough Mrs C Barnes, Granum, the death of her father-in-law also being recorded in this issue; Clarice and Helen at home. ----------- THE CLARESHOLM LOCAL PRESS Claresholm, Alberta, Thursday, September 16 1943 FUNERAL RITES FOR D.W. MULHOLLAND The many friends of the D.W. Mulholland;s met at the LDS Church, Sunday, Sept 12th to pay their last respects to the late D.W. Mulholland. The church was filled to capacity, many not being seated for the funeral, and the floral offerings were profuse and outstanding, both testifying of the love and devotion held for Mr Mulholland. The family was all in attendance with the exception of one son, Lester, who found it impossible to return from Halifax, being in active service with the Royal Canadian Navy. Relatives of the deceased came from Taber and Raymond, also a long standing friend, Mrs Lena Foster from Calgary. (Extensive details of the funeral and attendees omitted) Mr Mulholland, born and raised in Utah, had traveled quite extesively. As a young man he spent 3 years in Savador, Central America, coming to Canad in 1904 with his parents anda sister. Later he married , and leaves to mourn his death his wife and five children, two sons and three daughters, one sister and a very wide host of friends.
