| Description | : | Davis Whiteside, who states DOB as 10 Aug 1844, has a CSA pension application on line in the GA Archives under Fannin County. He says he was born in North Carolina but moved to Georgia about 1903. He enlisted in Aug 1862 with Co. A of the 1st North Carolina Inf. , Thomas Legion. He transfer later to Company G of the same unit. In Feb. 1863 in service in Tennessee he contracted measles and mumps. The diseases were so bad they left him unable to do any manuel labor.
