Wilber C. Denney officiating. Music was by Clark Foutch, accompanied by Mrs. Carl Meunch.A short service was held at the Bohn mortuary, Garner, Iowa, Friday, Sept. 12, at 1:30, the Rev. Trevor Basheville officiating. Nephews of Mrs. Gilbert acted as pallbearers. Burial was in the Concord cemetery at Garner (Republican Clipper (Bethany MO) 24 Sep 1958). Dean A. Gilbert, patrol foreman here for the Great Lakes Pipe Line Co., died early Tuesday at the University of Iowa hospital, Iowa City, Iowa, on the day before he would have become 49 years old.Mr. Gilbert became ill a little more than two weeks ago while driving home from Mason City, Iowa. He entered a local hospital Aug. 30, and was removed to Iowa City Sept. 2. His illness was diagnosed as a blood stream infection.He is survived by his wife, Agnes, and five children, all of the home. They are Joan, 17, Ronald, 15, Judy, 12, Michael, 6, and Dennis, 3. Also surviving are a brother, Raymond Gilbert of Eldora, Iowa, and a sister, Mrs. Nicholas Ballich of Baltimore, Md.Services will be at 2:00 o'clock Thursday at the Haas funeral home. The Rev. W.C. Denney, Methodist church pastor, will officiate. The body will be taken early Friday to Garner, Iowa, former home of the family, for burial.The present intention of Mrs. Gilbert is to continue residing at Bethany until Miss Joan Gilbert completes this, her senior year, in high school (source unknown (Bethany MO) c. 10 Sep 1958).
