Description	:	Dean E. Bolton, age 94, of Stromsburg, passed away January 24, 2014 at York General Hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 29 at Zion Lutheran Church in Benedict with Pastor Rebecca Sheridan officiating. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Benedict. Dubas Funeral Home of Stromsburg and Osceola has been entrusted with arrangements. Dean was born February 12, 1919 to Ray and Blanche (Shaw) Bolton of Benedict. Bolton, age 94, of Stromsburg, passed away January 24, 2014 at York General Hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 29 at Zion Lutheran Church in Benedict with Pastor Rebecca Sheridan officiating. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Benedict. Dubas Funeral Home of Stromsburg and Osceola has been entrusted with arrangements. Dean was born February 12, 1919 to Ray and Blanche (Shaw) Bolton of Benedict. He was born and raised on a farm and graduated from Benedict Consolidated School in 1936. Dean was in the Army from 1941 to 1946 when he returned home and started farming. On May 8, 1943 he was united in marriage to Margaret "Mazie" Dillon and they celebrated 62 years of marriage. To this union one son was born. They resided in Stromsburg until 1952 when they moved to rural Benedict where they lived and farmed. They retired in 1981 and moved back to Stromsburg. He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Benedict. He served on the Benedict School board and the Benedict Coop board and was a member of the Stromsburg Legion Post 132. After retiring from farming, which he truly loved, he took up fishing for a few years and enjoyed walleye fishing in South Dakota. He also enjoyed a lot of coffee at the round table in the Corner Cafe visiting with friends. He especially enjoyed his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mazie who passed away July 12, 2005, two sisters Bernice (Eldon) Davis, Leora (Morris) Law and brother Leigh Bolton.
