Read More	Dean E. Hoffman, Sr., of Valley, NE died Friday, June 7, 2013 at Nye Legacy in Fremont, NE. He was born November 13, 1926 in Omaha, NE to Fred and Myrtle (Mentzer) Hoffman. Dean served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was stationed in Italy. He lived in the Valley area for 86 years where he farmed. Dean was also a Crow's Seed Corn dealer for many years. He retired in 2010. Dean married Vivian Schuelke April 27, 1947 at the First Congregational Church, U.C.C. in Fremont. He was a member of the First Congregational Church, U.C.C., Fraternal Order of Eagles #200 in Fremont, V.F.W. Post #8332 in Arlington, and American Legion Post #71 in Arlington. He was an avid bowler. Dean also raced stock cars and was a NASCAR fan. Survivors include: wife – Vivian; sons – Dean Jr. and wife, Marlene Hoffman of Valley, NE, Lee and wife, Connie Hoffman of Lincoln, NE, Keith and wife, Barb Hoffman of Valley, NE; daughter – Janice and her husband Larry Andreasen of Fremont, NE; grandchildren – Susan, Chad, Eric, Heidi, Mike, Deb, Matt, Jenny, Katie, Roy, Tanner, and Julie; and great grandchildren – Macayli, Olivia, Bella, Garrett, Jacob, Alex, Jaelynn and Blake; sisters in law, Joan Hoffman of Columbus, NE, Darlene and husband Roger Johnson of Centennial, Colorado, Ann Picard of Rollinsville, Colorado, and Carol Wright of Corona Del Mar, California. He was preceded in death by: his parents; 1 brother; 4 step-brothers; and 3 step sisters. Funeral Service will be 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Chaplain James Jost will officiate. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday and will continue one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial with military honors will be in Memorial Cemetery, Fremont at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family.
