Biographical Information: Dean had lived in White County, Indiana, most all of his life. He started farming with his father, fulfilling a boyhood dream of farming. Dean had lived in Francesville, Indiana, from 1931 to 1942, Reynolds, Indiana, from 1942 to 1984, Monticello, Indiana, from 1984 to 2013, returning back to Reynolds, Indiana in 2013 to date. He was a United States Marine Veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict, and received a Purple Heart. Dean had served as a White County Commissioner for sixteen (16) years. During this time he was proud to be involved in implementing the 911 system in White County. He had also served on the White County Drainage Board, and the former White County Memorial Hospital (now known as IU Health White Memorial) Board of Trustees. Dean was a founding member of the Northwest Indiana Solid Waste Committee. He was a member of the Reynolds United Methodist Church of Reynolds, Indiana, had served as a member of the Board of Trustee, and staff, parish and administration council. Dean was also a member of the VFW Post #2231, Tippecanoe Country Club, both of Monticello, Indiana, and White County Industrial Board. He was honored to be inducted in the White County Agriculture Hall of Fame. Special Services: Full Military Rites by the Monticello Veterans Honor Guard will be conducted at the cemetery. Memorial Information: Memorials may be given to the Reynolds United Methodist Church of Reynolds, Indiana, IU Health White Memorial Hospital Foundation, or Great Lakes Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at the church. . Marriage Information: On February 13, 1955, in Wolcott, Indiana, he married Judith Jackson; she passed away on August 13, 1997. Then on June 26, 1999, in Monticello, Indiana, he married Faye Lowring; she passed away on July 7, 2011. Preceded in Death: Parents, Edward and Anna (Hintz) Fleck; First Wife, Judith Fleck; Second Wife, Faye (Lowring) Fleck; Step - Son, Michael "Mike" Lowring; Sister, Maxine Fowler; Brother, Robert Fleck.
