Description	:	Dean H. Elliott, 93, of 4040 Parkhill Drive, Billings, was born Nov. 26, 1923. He grew up in Billings and graduated Billings Senior High June 1942. In Aug. 1944, Dean enlisted in the U.S. Army, 383rd Infantry, 96th Division, Company E. and was deployed to the Okinawa beachhead May 1, 1945. He grew up in Billings and graduated Billings Senior High June 1942. In Aug. 1944, Dean enlisted in the U.S. Army, 383rd Infantry, 96th Division, Company E. and was deployed to the Okinawa beachhead May 1, 1945. His unit was one of four during World War II that was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation. Dean went on to earn two undergraduate degrees, one in chemistry from Cal. Poly Pomona, and one in Petroleum Engineering from Colorado School of Mines. He also earned a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Montana School of Mines. After his education, Dean worked for McDonald Douglas and was a member of the Sky Lab Team. In 1961, he married Frances Lucille Collins, a World War II Senior Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy. They owned a Radio Shack in Farmington, New Mexico. Dean also worked from the BLM out of North Dakota before retiring and moving to Montana in 1985. Dean passed into the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ, his savior, Oct. 2, 2017. He was preceded by his wife, Fran, April 10, 2001. His survivors include his sister, Marjorie Ann Negus, of Meridian, Idaho, his nephew, Jim Negus, and wife, Juinne of Grangeville, Idaho, his niece, Valerie Susan Robinson and her husband Phillip Paul (Skip) of Butte, and nephew Paul Negus, his wife Cara and their children, Oliver, Sam, and Ellie of Greeley, Colorado. While living in Billings, the Elliotts had attended Rocky Mountain Community Church, Christ Covenant Reformed Church, and Trinity Lutheran Church. Graveside services at National Veterans Cemetery.
