Henderson Passed Away In Des Moines, Sunday; Services Here Wednesday Funeral services for Dean W. Henderson, former Clarke county resident who passed away in Des Moines Sunday, were held from the Church of Christ in Osceola Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. F. C. McCallon delivered the funeral sermon. Burial took place in Maple Hill cemetery. Dean W., oldest son of Joseph A. and Mary E. Henderson, was born in Clarke county, November 12, 1879, and passed away at a hospital In Des Moines January 3, 1937, aged 57 years, 1 month and 22 days. He grew, to manhood on the farm six miles west of town where he was born. The spring of 1904 he was married to Minnie A. Thompson. One child was born to this union, Thelma Marie, now Mrs. Edmund Louis of Des Moines. Her mother passed away when she was three weeks old. November 17, 1913, he was married to Lydia Johnson of Des Moines. Four children were born to this union: Clarence who passed away at the age of six weeks, Joseph who passed away at the age of 15 years, Laverne and Sylvia who with their mother are left to mourn the loss of a fine father and husband; also one brother C. C. Henderson and one sister Sylvia Turk of this city. One sister, Mrs. Belle Griffin, preceded him in death three years ago. He joined the Church of Christ in Osceola in 1893 and when he moved to Des Moines transferred his membership to the Capital Hill church.
