Description	:	Dean was born on January 21, 1923, in New Providence, Iowa, the son of Earl C. and Lilly Whitehead Reece. Dean was raised and educated in the New Providence area where he graduated from the New Providence High School in 1941. Following graduation Dean went to work for his family business Reece Trucking. Dean actively served his country during WWII. Following his honorable discharge Dean returned home and married to Jeri Kewatt on October 7, 1943. Read More	Dean was born on January 21, 1923, in New Providence, Iowa, the son of Earl C. and Lilly Whitehead Reece. Dean was raised and educated in the New Providence area where he graduated from the New Providence High School in 1941. Following graduation Dean went to work for his family business Reece Trucking. Dean actively served his country during WWII. Following his honorable discharge Dean returned home and married to Jeri Kewatt on October 7, 1943. They made their home in New Providence where Dean continued to work for his family trucking business. Dean owned and operated the family business until he retired in 1987. He was an avid fisherman making over 80 fishing trips to Canada throughout his lifetime. Dean was a member of the Eldora American Legion, and was the past mayor of New Providence, past member of the New Providence City Council, the Heart of Iowa telephone Co-op, the New Providence Fire Department, the New Providence Community Club, and the Iowa Motor Truck Association. Dean is survived by his son Ron (Mary) Reece of New Providence; his daughter Carol Uhl of Greer, South Carolina; sisters Ruth Sievert of Hubbard, and Wanda (Gene) Miller of Hubbard; five grandchildren Chad, Dana, Sommer, Shay, and Jordan; and four great-grandchildren Chris, Courtney, Caleb, and Cameron.
