Description	:	Deanna P. Davis, 71, Tucson, Ariz. died Apr. 8. Deanna Perley Wallis Davis was born Nov. 23, 1937 in Missouri Valley, along with her twin brother, Douglas Perley Wallis. They were the children of Dallas Wallis and Sarah (Sadie) Wallis. Her childhood was spent on a farm near Mondamin and later in Pisgah. Deanna Perley Wallis Davis was born Nov. 23, 1937 in Missouri Valley, along with her twin brother, Douglas Perley Wallis. They were the children of Dallas Wallis and Sarah (Sadie) Wallis. Her childhood was spent on a farm near Mondamin and later in Pisgah. She attended Colorado University in Boulder and graduated in 1964. She taught English and later was active in the Mental Health Association of Denver. Deanna was a 35-year-old woman living in Denver, married with two daughters, when her second life began with a car accident, Oct. 13, 1973. Then she became a quadruplegic (paralyzed from the shoulder down). She learned to breathe on her own using her shoulder muscles and a limited diaphram. After her accident, she lived in Denver and Tucson. Despite her handicap, she made a life for herself for 35 years. She continued to run her household and to do her own business. She also traveled extensively going to California, New York and even took a cruise to Alaska. She made frequent trips to Iowa but her real love was Mexico. She was preceded in death by a niece, Elizabeth Wallis. Survivors include: her two daughters , Kim and her husband, Joe, Wrona, and Sarah and her husband, Rob, Elliott, both of Tucson; two grandaughters that were the light of her life, Morgan and McKenna Elliott; her soul mate, Timothy Davis, the father of her two daughters; her brother, Doug and his wife, Genevieve, Wallis, Boulder, Colo., and sister, Sarah and her husband, Larry, Bryceson, Pisgah; and three nieces and two nephews. She is loved and missed. Her church was the Crystal Cathedral in California, and she was fortunate to meet Dr. Shuler just this past December. She was an inspiration to all who met her, especially her caregivers through the years. She recently wrote a book about her experiences - "64 Clarkson." A Celebration of her Life was held Apr. 26 in Tucson, and interment will be in Iowa in June.
