Deb was born March 30, 1951 in Omaha, Nebraska to Charles M. and Betty E. (Taylor) Smith. She attended Pius X High School in Lincoln, NE. She married Jim Kemerling September 1, 1984, and together they raised their blended family. She worked at Kawasaki Motors for over 20 years before going back to school, earning her nursing degree. Deb enjoyed working as a geriatric nurse, providing loving care to her patients. She loved spending time with her family, reading, working crossword puzzles and always looked forward to yearly fishing trips to Missouri. Deb will be deeply missed by her husband Jim, and her children: Dominic and Marisol Inness, Texas; Amy Inness, Lincoln, NE; Kim Lauenroth, Lincoln, NE; Travis and Amy Kemerling, Dorchester, NE. Siblings: Cindy and Dan Smith, Douglas, NE; Jenny and Kevin Schmeiding, Seward, NE; Becky Detore, Lincoln, NE; Vicki Smith, Omaha, NE; Penny Smith, Minneapolis, MN; Marcie Garnett, Omaha, NE, David and Kelly Smith, Grand Rapids, MI; Jim and Lisa Schwartman, Waverly NE; Sharon and Jon Van Housen, Unadilla, NE; and Judy and Frank Turner, Lincoln, NE. Grandchildren: Abby Inness, Lincoln, NE; Toby Inness Lincoln, NE; Destiny Inness, Texas; Alec (Celeste) Wise, Lincoln, NE; Marcus Bell, Lincoln, NE; Johnathan Lauenroth, Greely, CO; Shantae Lauenroth, McKenna Lauenroth, Aniessa Lauenroth, Lincoln, NE; Kiahna Schnell, Clayton Schnell, Cabbott Kemerling, and Keith Kemerling, Dorchester, NE. Brother-in-law Don (Marge) Kemerling, Grand Island, NE.; and special friend Pat Stanislaw and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Deb was preceded in death by her parents, son Keith Kenneth Kemerling and infant grandson Thomas Marshall Inness, and infant grandson Kendell Keith Lauenroth. Pallbearers: David Smith, Jim Schwartman, Alec Wise, Johnathan Lauenroth, Marcus Bell, Toby Inness. Honorary Pallbearers: Abby Inness, Shantae Lauenroth, McKenna Lauenroth, Kiahna Schnell, Aniessa Lauenroth, Clayton Schnell, Destiny Inness, Cabbott Kemerling and Keith Kemerling. Deborah is NOT buried at Wyuka cemetery. She is buried at the Fairmont Catholic Cemetery in Fillmore County, Nebraska (cemetery ID=2288835).
