Delbert Arliegh Rehborg, son of William and Ella (Beccue) Rehborg was born on September 15, 1926 in Willey Township, near Gwinner. He was baptized on October 3, 1926, and confirmed on May 12, 1940 at Zion Lutheran Church in Gwinner. Delbert and his family lived on a farm near Gwinner, until his baby sister and his father passed away in 1932-33. He then moved into Gwinner with his mother and three brothers, where he attended school. In 1946, he moved to Dent, Minnesota. Delbert was united in marriage to Pearl Fick at St. Paul's Loon Lake Church in Vergas, Minnesota on August 25, 1948. In the fall of 1949, Delbert and Pearl moved back to Gwinner to make their home and farm on his family's original farmstead. He was a life long member of Zion Lutheran Church. Delbert loved the life of being a farmer, and being his own boss. He was a "people person". He loved to visit and tease people with his humor. He played the harmonica, and enjoyed music and dancing. He had always loved to play cards with family and friends, and he also enjoyed bowling, roller skating and hunting in his younger years. After retirement, Delbert enjoyed doing wood working and relaxing at their lake cabin, fishing and gardening. He loved life and his family, and he delighted in teasing and spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. They were all very precious to him. Delbert died on Wednesday, December 19, 2007, at Four Seasons Healthcare Center in Forman, North Dakota after a long battle with lung disease. He was 81 years old. He is survived by his wife, Pearl of 59 years; his son, Timothy (JoAnne) Rehborg; two daughters, Celeste (Steve) Metzen and Debra (Dwight) Mattern; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, Victor (Francis) Rehborg; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Rehborg, and Ruth Rehborg; and two step-sisters, Joan Nadler and Ruby Howell. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Gerald and Walter, one sister, Celeste, three stepbrothers, Earl Heath, Murray Heath, and Kent Heath, and one godson, Bill Rehborg.
