He worked at Ralston Purina as a machine operator for many years, retiring in 1990. After retirement, he worked at 7th Avenue-Swiss Colony in DeWitt for eight years. Delbert was a member of Elvira Lutheran Church and the DeWitt American Legion Post 0238. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren.
