Delbert Charles Stoltenburg was born December 31, 1926 at Clear Lake [SD], the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stoltenburg. He attended country school in the Altamont area after which he worked as a farm laborer on various farms in Deuel County and worked with a group of men from Duel County building grain bins in surrounding states. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1946 and served a short time. After his discharge he worked as a laborer in various cities in the area, Sioux City Iowa, Des Moines Iowa, and Deuel County. About 1960 he moved to Minneapolis where he was employed as a driver for Allied Van Lines. In 1965 he married Betty Rebensdors at Minneapolis and they made their home in Minneapolis. [Records show her name as Betty J. Becker at time of this marriage. Also the date of this record is 15 Aug 1964 - Clc] He is survived by his wife, Betty, in Minneapolis, five children, four in Des Moines, Iowa from a previous marriage, and one daughter, LuAnn in Minneapolis with her mother; his parents, four brothers, one sister and several nieces and nephews. The Brockberg-Geise Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Thanks to the Clear Lake Courier, South Dakota, for this obituary. * Family Note: first marriage was to Nellie Mae Cook, November 23, 1953; two sons and two daughters were born; this marriage ended in divorce in 1967. (Yes this date is correct: 1st marriage divorce after he married the 2nd time). – I see that the stone date of death does not match the newspaper articles and obituary.
