At the age of nine years he moved with his parents to Panora, Ia., in Guthrie County. The move was made by covered wagon and took 31 days. Read More	From The Rolfe Arrow, December 10, 1953, page 1, transcribed by Linda Berney: "Delbert Eugene Young was born at Jones in Cass County, Mich., April 30, 1872, the third child of 11 children of Isaac and Margaret Young. At the age of nine years he moved with his parents to Panora, Ia., in Guthrie County. The move was made by covered wagon and took 31 days. At the age of 19 he came to Pocahontas County for employment on a farm. He lived here since with the exception of four years in Minnesota, one year in Michigan and one in Panora, Ia. On February 1, 1903, Mr. Young was united in marriage to Ethel E. Clark at Morris, Minn. To this union four children were born: Earl, Aurelia, Frances and Mildred. His wife died at Palisade, Colo, November 9, 1910. On November 25, 1911 Mr. Young married Mrs. Stella Foust. To this union were born one daughter Mabel, one son Russel, and twin daughters who died in infancy. He united with the Presbyterian Church at Panora, Ia., January 6, 1897 and continued his membership in the Presbyterian denomination until his death. He was a Sunday school superintendent in Minnesota and at Plover and treasurer of the Plover Presbyterian Church until he moved to Rolfe March 1, 1930. He was active in church and community affairs until he was forced to quit because of ill health. Mr. Young passed away December 1, 1953 at 12:20 a.m. at the age of 81 years and seven months. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Stella; his children: Mabel (Mrs. Henry Lovig) of Galesville, Wis; Russell Young of Clarion, Ia; Earl Young of Rolfe; Aurelia (Mrs. Glen Jones) of Kansas City, Kan; Frances (Mrs. Everett Shaw) of Rolfe; Mildred (Mrs. Clyde McDiarmid) of Storm Lake; and three stepchildren: Gerald Foust, of Manson; Thelma (Mrs. Earl Firkins) of Plover; and Ira Foust of Grand Prairie, Tex; 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A brother, W. W. Young, Richland, Mo., and a sister, Mrs. Susie Nelson of Panora also survive."
