Description	:	Delbert Louis "Delb" Timion, 95, of Janesville, Iowa, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 18, 2011, surrounded by his family. He died from complications of cancer. Delbert was born on June 27, 1916, in Black Hawk County, Iowa, the son of John H. and Dora Elizabeth (Bolte)Timion. He attended the Janesville Consolidated School System, graduating in 1933 from the Janesville High School. Read More	Delbert Louis "Delb" Timion, 95, of Janesville, Iowa, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 18, 2011, surrounded by his family. He died from complications of cancer. Delbert was born on June 27, 1916, in Black Hawk County, Iowa, the son of John H. and Dora Elizabeth (Bolte)Timion. He attended the Janesville Consolidated School System, graduating in 1933 from the Janesville High School. On April 5, 1947, Delbert was united in marriage to Gladys Lucille Farris in the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple made their home in Janesville, where Delbert worked for Droman & Ferris Implement, Rath Packing Company, and also farmed until 1954. Delbert then became employed with the United States Post Office, where he was a rural mail carrier in the Janesville area for 27 years, retiring in June of 1981. He also worked as a part-time mechanic for local shops. Following his retirement the couple spent several winters in California with Gladys's family until her mother passed away in 1990. In 1986, they accompanied three other couples in two motor homes for a seven-week trip to Alaska, which was absolutely fabulous. Delbert was a member of the United Methodist Church in Janesville, where he was active in the Methodist Men's Group, member of the Janesville Lions Club and a member of the National & County Rural Letter Carriers. In his spare time he loved to go fishing, bowling, square dancing, gardening and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of over 64 years, Gladys Timion of Janesville, Iowa; two daughters and their husbands, Delberta (Jack) Fisher of Waverly, Iowa, Connie (Tom) Cain of Shell Rock, Iowa; one son and his wife, Gary (Renee) Timion of Janesville, Iowa; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Stout. Delbert was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lawrence Timion; and a brother-in-law, Milton Stout. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Janesville, with Pastors Mary Schnepf and Bill Carpenter officiating. Following the visitation Delbert's body will be cremated and a private family burial of his cremains will take place at a later date in the Fairview Cemetery in Denver, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family.
