Description	:	Delbert Ray Olson, 68, died at home April 16, 2010, after an extended battle with cancer. Delbert was born July 9, 1941, in Bismarck, ND, the son of Edwin and Sylvia (Eckholm) Olson. He was raised on the family farm southwest of Wing and graduated from Wing High School in 1959. He was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wing where he was baptized and confirmed. Read More	Delbert Ray Olson, 68, died at home April 16, 2010, after an extended battle with cancer. Delbert was born July 9, 1941, in Bismarck, ND, the son of Edwin and Sylvia (Eckholm) Olson. He was raised on the family farm southwest of Wing and graduated from Wing High School in 1959. He was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wing where he was baptized and confirmed. He attended BSC and NDSU. Delbert married Arlene Hausauer on June 6, 1964 at Sunne Lutheran Church, Wilton, ND. They made their home on the original Olson family homestead, where Delbert farmed and ranched his entire life. Delbert was active in many community organizations including serving as a director of Wing Farmers Union Oil Company, on the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Council, as an officer for the Union Cemetery, as well as being active in the Wing Fire Department and Burleigh County Farmers Union. He was especially proud to be a farmer/rancher from North Dakota and commented many times, "there's no place I'd rather live." Delbert enjoyed visiting about farming with many close neighbors, friends or even complete strangers. He also was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching high school sports, the Minnesota Vikings, and NDSU Bison. Delbert is survived by his wife, Arlene, Wing; two daughter, Karla (James) Olson, Athol, ID, and Karen (Brad) Lemer, Grayslake, IL; two grandchildren, Mason and Avery Lemer; one brother-in-law, Melvin (Arlene) Hausauer, Minot; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine (Eugene) Weippert, Steele, and Ruby (William) Ziegler, Bismarck; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother-in-law, Reuben Hausauer. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to be sent to the Union Cemetery Fund.
