Description	:	Funeral services were held on Tuesday morning for Mrs. Delia Alice Kies in the Hurley Adventist Church. She passed away at the home of her daughter at McMinnville, Oregon. Interment was in the Hurley Cemetery. Delia Alice King was born at Indian Lake, New York, April 6, 1871. She passed away July 25, 1956 at the home of her daughter Margaret Ernston at McMinnville, Oregon, after a lingering illness of 6 1/2 years. Read More	Funeral services were held on Tuesday morning for Mrs. Delia Alice Kies in the Hurley Adventist Church. She passed away at the home of her daughter at McMinnville, Oregon. Interment was in the Hurley Cemetery. Delia Alice King was born at Indian Lake, New York, April 6, 1871. She passed away July 25, 1956 at the home of her daughter Margaret Ernston at McMinnville, Oregon, after a lingering illness of 6 1/2 years. On July 27th, 1889, she was united in marriage to David Allen Kies at Elk Point, South Dakots. They were farming 36 years in Wisconsin and in the state of South Dakota, retiring at Malcom, Iowa. They were married 67 years. He is now over 93 years old, and is enjoying fair health. To this union weere born, Katherine L. Hoyle of Barstow, Cal.; Mable S. Kies, who died in early childhood; Fred D. Kies of Hurley, S. Dak.; Margaret L. Erntson of McMinnville, Oregon; Allen F. Kies of Malcom, Iowa; and Robert K. Kies of Fontana, Cal. These with her beloved husband, David A. Kies, are left to mourn, together with ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grand children, and three sisters, Olive King of Newburg, Oregon, May Peterson of Corvallis, Oregon, and Anna Bowes of Loma Linda, Cal. The ones who have passed on are three brothers, Frank, Joseph and Oliver, and two sisters, Ida King and Huldah Rittenhouse, She has many nieces and nephews who will miss her sweet ways. In the Spring of 1949, Mother was very ill so her younger daughter Margaret took her to her home in Oregon to care for her. She gained strength enough to be about the house, the following March she was stricken by cerebral hemorrage which caused total helplessness until her death. She was tenderly cared for by Margaret and her husband, Elder N.C. Erntson and their assistants. In early life she gave her heart to the Lord and served him in the Methodist Church, and in 1929 became a Seventh Day Adventist, and was a true child of God, patient and loving in her home life and enjoying associating with her many frields and loved ones. We believe she fell asleep in Jesus and will have a part in the first resurrection. The Hurley Leader - Thursday Aug 2, 1956
