Description	:	Parents Melothis and Melinda Rhodes Hellyer Delilah Hellyer Kerr, daughter of Malothi and Malinda Frakes Hellyer, passed away Sept. 17, 1929, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Crane in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. She had been visitng her daughters Mrs. Crane and Mrs. Robert Forbes who were with her when she passed away. She was born July 30, 1853, at Hiramsburg, Ohio. Pleasant, Iowa. She had been visitng her daughters Mrs. Crane and Mrs. Robert Forbes who were with her when she passed away. She was born July 30, 1853, at Hiramsburg, Ohio. At the age of one year she came across the country with her parents in a covered wagon to Iowa. A home was made on land near Leando, Iowa. Here she grew to young womanhood and was united in marriage to William Alexander Kerr March 31, 1874. To this union were born six children. Stella Mertis was called home in infancy. The following are left to mourn the passing of a dear, loving mother: Samuel C. Kerr of Keosauqua; Mary L. Forbes of Mt. Pleasant; Linnie B. Williams of Denver, Colo.; Addie P. Kutcher of Keosauqua; Effie H. Crane, Mt. Pleasant; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, besides a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Mrs. Kerr made a confession of faith while a young girl and united with the Baptist church. In 1885 she changed her membership to the M.E. church at Pittsburg, Iowa. Since the death of her beloved husband ten years ago, she has made her home with her son Samuel Kerr, at the home she moved into 52 years ago. Mrs. Kerr was held in the highest esteem by a large circle of acquaintances. Her life has ever been one of conscientious service, an enduring testimony of the religion of Jesus Christ. As a mother she will be sadly missed in her home, a devoted mother ever ready to greet the homecoming of each child. The funeral was held from the home Friday at 2 p. m. Services were conducted by Rev. Austin. Interment was in Pittsburg, cemetery. The sorrowing family sincerely thank the friends for their kind assistance and sympathy during their sad bereavement.
