Description	:	Della Alice Prince, 82, died Thursday at her home on Table Bluff following a lengthly illness. She was born March 13, 1879, on Table Bluff and had resided there since. She is survived by her husband, Dan Prince, Table Bluff; son Irving F. James, Ferndale; grandchildren, Leonard James, Loleta, Leslie, Harold, Jocelyn and Diana James, Ferndale, Mrs. Phyllis Avila, Loleta, Mrs. Rena Nunes, Fortuna, and Mrs. Ramona Romero, Klamath Falls, Ore., nephew Herbert Robinson, Samoa; and 13 great-grandchildren. Interment will be at the Ocean View Cemetery Della was the daughter of Henry Brown and Miranda Lemwood Brown. She was born in southern Humboldt County, and grew up around Hydesville. For a time, she was married to Jerry James, a survivor of the Indian Island massacre, and she bore him a son, Irving James. She spent the majority of her life married to Dan Prince. She was the principle informant for the extensive study of the Wiyot Language by Karl Teeter, and provided many old Wiyot stories in the original Wiyot tongue. It is due to her that has made it possible for the language revitalization that the Wiyot Tribe is conducting today. I remember my mother speaking of "Uncle Dan and Aunt Della" frequently.
