P. and Lena Becker, was born in McPherson County, Kansas, April 23, 1914, and departed this life at the Mercy Hospital, Moundridge, Kansas, June 4, 1965, reaching the age of 51 years. She grew to womanhood, living with her parents, on a farm southeast of Galva, Kansas. She received her education at the Farms School. At the age of 13, she reached the point of decision in her life. Read More	Della Unruh, daughter of Henry A. P. and Lena Becker, was born in McPherson County, Kansas, April 23, 1914, and departed this life at the Mercy Hospital, Moundridge, Kansas, June 4, 1965, reaching the age of 51 years. She grew to womanhood, living with her parents, on a farm southeast of Galva, Kansas. She received her education at the Farms School. At the age of 13, she reached the point of decision in her life. She repented and received forgiveness of her sins through the atoning blood of Christ for Lord, choosing the Christian way of life. Upon confession of her faith she was baptized by Min. Frank H. Wenger, on March 1, 1927, becoming a member of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. She remained faithful to her God and loyal to His Church until her end. On June 14, 1931 she joined hands with me, Claude Unruh, in the bonds of Holy Matrimony by Min. John A. Backer. She was a devoted companion that was meet for me in all the experiences of our 34 short years of married life. She was a good Mother to her children, endeavoring to bring them up in the fear and admonition of the Lord. It made her happy to see all her children get converted, accepting salvation as they reached the years of accountability. We were called to the ministry and were ordained on November 23, 1942. She faithfully, being trustworthy, and with joy served as a minister's wife where she could. She especially enjoyed teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School classes. Working with children was a pleasure to her and it gave her great joy to see those whom she had taught give their hearts and lives to the Lord. She was active and energetic and besides keeping the home, she loved to work in the garden and with flowers. She enjoyed good health until ten years ago when cancer set in from which she recovered and was able to enjoy a good measure of health. On June 25, 1964 she submitted to surgery at the Mercy Hospital, Moundridge, Kansas, and it was again found that she had cancer. The best of medical aid was sought locally and in Oct. of 1964 she spent two weeks at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas. Her case was also referred to the University of Texas M.S. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute. All that was possible was done to alleviate her condition and with some success. Many prayers were offered in her behalf which were of great help. But God saw fit to take her and she quietly fell asleep in Jesus on Friday, June 4, at four o'clock in the morning. We have witnessed life and the passing of one who loved her children, her home, her friends and the Church. No stranger was she among us, nor a guest, but our Mother and our dearly beloved. And ever has it been that love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation. We mourn the loss of our loved one, but not without hope, for she has finished her course, kept the faith, and endured until her end. May we all meet her in heaven one day. She leaves to mourn her early departure, me her husband, Claude; 5 children: Lillian and husband Ransome Wiebe; Gary and wife Lila, Durham, Kansas; Alice, Willard and Anita of the home; 4 grandchildren: Karen, Janyne, Steven and Merlin; 2 brothers: Dan and wife Kathrine and Roy and wife Dorothy, Galva, Kansas; 3 sisters: Matilda and husband David Koehn, Ida and husband John Koehn, Galva, Kansas, and Elda and husband Edwin Dirks, Montezuma, Kansas. Her parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters preceded her in death. Words of praise though often spoken, Fall forgotten in the night, Della's life has left a token, That will not take wings of flight. Funeral services were held in the Logan Mennonite Church, Durham, Kansas with Ministers Jacob N. Yost of Durham, Kansas and Earvey Unruh, Montezuma, Kansas in charge.
