Face to face with the truth of that old proverb, as we are gathered to look for the last time upon the face of this young maiden, ready to burst forth into the beauty of young woman hood; called away to try the life that is hidden by the veil. Della Lucille Cronkhite was just a little past eighteen years of age, as she was born in Dunlap, Iowa the 7th day of September, 1908. She was taken ill very suddenly Monday morning a t two o'clock and was taken to the hospital Monday evening. The following morning at 10 o'clock she underwent an operation and she passed away the same day at 3 p. m. She lived here until about eleven months ago, when she moved to Council Bluffs. She attended High School here, being in the eleventh grade studies. She was a constant attendant while here, at the Methodist Sunday School, being a member of the class of girls of which Mrs. Rogers was the teacher. She was a member of the Standard Bearers under the supervision of Mrs. Thompson, and the Queen Esther Society under supervision of Mrs. Van Slyke. She was baptized when a little girl and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church last Easter, a year ago. Della was a great chum with her school mates, cheery and industrious, always ready to do her part. She leaves three sisters: Mrs. Madge Peters of this city; Mrs. Maude Leland of Charles City; Mrs. Dama Mansker of Malta, Montana; one brother, Robert Cronkhite and a half brother, Fred Fouts. Both her parents, Mrs., Eunice Fouts and George Cronkhite. Besides these is her intended husband John Freeman of Council Bluffs, to whom she was engaged to be married soon. She also leaves a step grandfather, Wm. McLean of Dunlap. She has traveled on before—Not changed, but glorified! O beauteous language, for those who weep. Mourning the loss of some dear face departed. Fallen asleep. Hushed into silence, never more to comfort, The heart of men, Gone like sunshine of another country—Beyond our ken. Services were held in the M. E. Church here at 2 p. m. Friday, Jan. 28, the Rev.
