Della Klopfenstein, 93, of Botkins, died at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at the Wapak-oneta Manor, where she resided for 18 months. She was born May 24, 1913, in Pusheta Township in Auglaize County, the daughter of Minnie (Lunz) and Ferdinand Ruck, who preceded her in death. On Feb. 20, 1936, she married Allie Klopfenstein, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 1975. She is survived by a son, Dale (Mary Lou) Klopfenstein of Botkins; a daughter, Doris (Bill) Dillon of New Knoxville; five grandchildren, Judy (Steve) Thaman, Rick Klopfenstein, Bob (Lori) Klopfenstein, Dan Klopfenstein and fiancee Missi White, Jesse (Michelle) Dillon; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Mildred Ruck of Celina and Mae Klopfenstein of Sidney. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred Ruck and Ferdie Ruck. A homemaker and farm wife, Mrs. Klopfenstein was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church on Pusheta Road in Wapakoneta and its Ladies Aid Society. She also was a member of the Botkins Senior Citizens. She enjoyed playing cards, dominos and baking. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday at the St. John's Lutheran Church on Pusheta Road in Wapakoneta, with the Rev. David Griebel officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home on State Route 501 in Wapakoneta, and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the St. John's Lutheran Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
