She worked briefly in Cedar Rapids as a business... Read More	DELLA CHRISTY OTTUMWA --- Della M Christy 61, of 1312 Glenwood died Feb. 22, 1999, at her home following a long illness. She was born May 5, 1937, in Fox River Township of Davis County to Marion and Fairy Hopkins McGhghy. She married Larry Christy on Sept. 18, 1955. She was a graduate of Bloomfield High School. She worked briefly in Cedar Rapids as a business secretary and stenographer before marriage. She was a member of Davis Street Christian Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, a member of diaconate and held several offices in the Christian Womens Fellowship. She is survived by her mother, Fairy Harris of Fairfield; her husband; a son, Michael Christy of Ridgeland, Miss.; a daughter, Kara Hedgecock of Ottumwa; five grandchildren; and a sister, Barbara Rominger of Fairfield. She was preceded in death by her father; and her stepfather, George Harris. The service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Davis Street Christian Church, the Rev. Terry Halstead officiating. Burial will be in Bloomfield IOOF cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa. Pallbearers will be Roger Buckley, Dick Grear, Art Gruber, Harry Ross, Cortie Rolison and Keith Smith. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Hospice, Inc., 312 E. Alta Vista, Ottumwa, Iowa 52501. --
