She resided in Ottumwa for 30 years prior to moving to Burbank 18 months ago to live with a daughter, Mrs. Thelma Hill. She was born August 30, 1887, and was a member of the Davis Street Christian church. She was married August 1, 1910, to Spicer Martin who died January 7, 1951. Besides the daughter, she is survived by a granddaughter, Ensign Norma R. Hill, USNR, of San Diego, Calif.; her mother, Mrs. Rachel Saner, Bloomfield; and three sisters, Mrs. Lawrence Johnson, Kahoka, Mo., Mrs. Forrest Lockman, Floris, and Mrs. Ethel Bryan, Burbank, Calif. She was preceded in death by her father. The body will be returned to the Johnson funeral chapel here to await completion of arrangements. --------------- Funeral Notice From "Ottumwa Daily Courier," Saturday, February 2, 1957, Page 13: Funeral services for Mrs. Della Martin, 69, of Burbank, Calif., will be held Monday at 3 p.m. in the Johnson funeral chapel. The Rev. La Verne Morris, pastor of the Davis Street Christian church, will be in charge. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. Mrs. Martin, a former Ottumwa resident, died at 6 p.m. Thursday in a Burbank hospital. The body will arrive in Ottumwa early Monday morning and be removed to the chapel.
