(Hasenpflug) Smith at Verdel. As an infant she moved with her parents to Alton, KS, where her father worked and later farmed for nine years. The family moved back to Nebraska and lived in the Bloomfield, Lindy and Niobrara area. As a young woman she worked at the Creighton Parker Hotel for seven years. On January 4, 1938 she married Charles F. Squire at Sioux City, IA. They lived in Bazile Mills until moving to Winnetoon. Later they purchased a farm at Magnet and lived there until 1970, when they brought a house in Creighton. Her husband died June 24, 1983. She is survived by a brother, Gerald Smith of Creighton and a sister, Norma Jean Bennett of McConnell, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five sisters and three brothers.
