Description	:	Delmar C. Meierotto, 78, of Farmington, passed away at 9:38 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Donnellson Health Center. Born October 18, 1938 near Mt. Hamill, Iowa the son of Alvis C. and Dorothy (Holtkamp) Meierotto. Survivors include one sister Joan Bissell of Ottumwa and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Robert. Delmar was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Farmington. Meierotto, 78, of Farmington, passed away at 9:38 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Donnellson Health Center. Born October 18, 1938 near Mt. Hamill, Iowa the son of Alvis C. and Dorothy (Holtkamp) Meierotto. Survivors include one sister Joan Bissell of Ottumwa and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Robert. Delmar was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Farmington. He graduated from Donnellson High School and was a farmer for 55 years. He enjoyed his dogs, playing euchre, and tending to his farm and cattle. The family wishes to thank his friends especially Erma, his hospice nurses Tonya and Melissa for their help in caring for Delmar. Cremation has been entrusted to the Schmitz Funeral Home. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at the Schmitz Funeral Home in Farmington where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. A Christian wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Dennis Hoffman officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington. Memorials may be made to Great River Hospice. The Schmitz Funeral Home of Farmington is assisting the family with arrangements.
